Frequently asked questions

Which heating oil do I need?

Although some domestic boilers use gas oil, the vast majority of oil fired boilers and AGA’s are fuelled by kerosene. If you are unsure please contact your nearest depot.

Does the quantity I order affect the price?

The most economic order size for both you and us and therefore the most common order is 900 litres but as a general rule the larger the quantity the cheaper the litre price.

Do you operate smaller tankers?

At Heltor, we specialise in operating a range of tanker sizes. This includes what we call our baby tanker, this vehicle is amongst the smallest in operation in the area and as such can take on the complicated deliveries where space and hard to reach locations are a concern.

How do I pay for my oil?

Online, by bank transfer, by cheque or by credit or debit card over the phone or alternatively you can sign up to our monthly budget payment scheme. See our domestic page for more info.

What areas do we cover?

We cover all of Devon and Cornwall and parts of Dorset and Somerset.
